Animal assisted therapy is a goal directed intervention in which an animal meeting specific criteria is an integral part of treatment.

Volunteer

Soul Friends is looking for volunteer animal assisted therapy teams to help with program development.

Animal assisted therapy at Soul Friends

Children who have suffered from a death in the family, trauma, or kids with special needs or emotional challenges can visit Soul Friends. There are a variety of programs that are offered based on the child’s needs.

Kate Nicoll

MSW, LCSW

Kate brings more than 20 years of clinical experience working with families coping with grief, trauma and illness. Kate established Soul Friends in 2003 to lead research and service in animal assisted interventions and therapy.

Lori Ratchelous

LMSW

Lori specializes in assisting victims of disaster, catastrophe, crisis and violence working with a specially trained therapy dog to serve communities and individuals as well as police, fire, EMS and other public safety personnel.

Kerri Loper Frye

Licensed Marital and Family Therapy

Keri is experienced working with the criminal justice system supporting domestic violence and high conflict family systems. She then transitioned to working with families at children.

Jodi Milardo

LMSW, Come, Follow Me! Program Coordinator

Jodi is the Director of a Therapeutic Foster Care Agency and oversees their PPSP program. Her specializations include; child welfare, divorce, trauma early in life and autism.
